Cassava Piece is a conversation and tapestry between two London based artists Bevan Agyemang and Harris Elliott who have developed their respective practices TSAU and Le TiNGS with complimentary visioning. Both artists explore their love for day to day culture through their lens and the colour rich images they make, precise aspects of the African diaspora and other global cultures are nuanced in their work which is timely and uplifting.

This project bares witness to a collective mindset that creates a space for new dialogue. The concept to show together, is akin to the artists of those movements that have defined contemporary art. Harris and Bevan have collaborated on countless projects over the past decade, this book was a desire to create a new reference to their work based on instinct, and the notion of a diary where both the deeply personal and the everyday moments sit side by side.

The book, a form of nourishment that is as much influenced by food rituals as it is to the connection they have with sound, their environments and the people they present in the pages. There is an inherent move to creating heroes from the people they meet, fashioning them to become larger than life as well as a preservation towards objects and environments that are often overlooked. A tour around their minds eye as seen in Rwanda, Johannesburg, Ghana, India, Jamaica and London. The human form and sartorial references has been an integral part to both of their respective practices over the years, which is evident in the image selection they have made.
