X LE TINGS
Two Scandal bag totes inspired by a recent Le Tings trip to Rwanda, is a key part of our SS25 collaboration with The Inoue Brothers.
Whilst shooting in Kigali, we came across a lady carrying a bale comprised of 165 used rice/coal sacks on her head. We stopped her to purchase the whole bale of which she would normally sell the bags as single units. Her image challenged us to think about the materials we use mixed with the migration that each bags before we see it. We kept the bale intact as it made more sense to preserve her bundle. For sampling and production we sourced new bags with the identical colouring of the bags the lady carried, white with black graphics and the colours of the season red, gold and green. These bags herald new material processes with leather bases and edge coated handles that give our beautiful bags a super fine finish.
In addition to the bags we have designed 2 Tees and 3 scarves which reflect our ‘laundry’ print which takes reference from Ghana bags in the 80’s in different colour ways.
